studiokalex is a design and engineering practice. Websites, 3D and motion, built end to end.

We work in the browser rather than in static mockups. Type, motion and load order turn out to be one decision, and it is easier to judge running than described.

What studiokalex builds for online stores

studiokalex designs and builds Shopify stores and headless storefronts for brands in India and abroad. A Shopify store keeps your team in Shopify's admin for products, orders and stock; a headless storefront puts a custom Next.js front end on the same Shopify back end when the design or speed needs more than a theme allows.

Indian stores get UPI and Razorpay checkout. Every store gets technical SEO, with Google Search Console and Google Analytics set up on your domain from launch.

Shopify theme or headless: which one you need

Most stores should start on Shopify with a custom theme. It launches sooner, your team already knows the admin, and apps cover payments, shipping and reviews.

Go headless when the storefront itself has to do more: heavy motion or 3D on product pages, content-led shopping, or a speed target a theme can't reach. A headless store reads products and carts through Shopify's Storefront API, so your team still runs products, orders and stock in Shopify. It costs more to build and needs a developer for changes outside the CMS, which is why we only recommend it when the store needs it.

How a store project runs

Start a project
  1. First

    Catalogue & sitemap

Products, collections, variants and the pages the store needs.

  2. Then

    Design

Home, collection and product templates in Figma, designed around your photography.

  3. Then

    Build & set-up

The theme or headless front end, products, payments and shipping on a staging store.

  4. Last

    Test & launch

Test orders, speed checks, redirects from the old store, then launch.

Yes. studiokalex in New Delhi designs and builds Shopify stores and headless Shopify storefronts for brands across India and abroad, with UPI and Razorpay checkout for Indian stores.

Start with Shopify and a custom theme unless you have a reason not to: it launches sooner, your team already knows the admin, and apps cover payments, shipping and reviews. Go headless when the storefront itself has to do more: heavy motion or 3D on product pages, content-led shopping, or a speed target a theme can't reach.

Yes. We map every product, collection and page URL that has rankings or links to its new address with permanent redirects, carry over titles and structured data, and watch Search Console after launch.

Yes, where it helps. A real-time viewer lets them turn and zoom the product, built in Three.js on a model we make in Blender. It's worth it for products people want to inspect closely, such as furniture, footwear or electronics.

You do. The Shopify store, the code and the design files are in your name when the project is paid for, and there is no lock-in.

Stores are quoted on the number of products and templates and the integrations they need. You get a fixed quote after a free intro call, before work starts.
