Kalex Studio is a design and engineering practice. Websites, iOS apps, 3D and motion, built end to end.

We work in the browser rather than in static mockups. Type, motion and load order turn out to be one decision, and it is easier to judge running than described.

3D website design & WebGL development

Interactive 3D websites in Three.js and WebGL, modelled in-house and fast on a phone.

What's included

Everything from brief to handover

Kalex Studio designs and builds interactive 3D websites with Three.js, WebGL and GSAP, from our studio in New Delhi, for brands in India, the US and the UK. We model the 3D assets ourselves in Blender, so the product on screen is accurate, and we tune every scene to load fast on a mid-range phone, with a designed fallback where WebGL is not available.

Process

How a project runs

  1. Week 101

    Concept & storyboard

What the 3D has to show and where it sits on each page, sketched as a storyboard and agreed before modelling starts.

  2. Weeks 2–302

    Design in Figma

Desktop and mobile layouts with each 3D moment marked frame by frame, so the scene and the copy are designed together.

  3. Weeks 3–503

    Modelling & look development

Models, materials and lighting in Blender, reviewed as still renders before they go real-time.

  4. Weeks 5–904

    WebGL build

Scenes built in Three.js on a live staging link and tested on real phones from the first week of build.

  5. Weeks 9–1005

    Optimise & launch

Model compression, fallbacks and Core Web Vitals checks, then launch and handover of the code and every source file.

FAQ

3D websites: common questions

View all FAQs

3D websites are quoted on scope. They build on our multi-page website package, which starts from $1,500, and the 3D adds to that depending on how many scenes there are, whether we model the assets or work from your CAD files, and how interactive each scene is. You get a fixed quote after a 20-minute intro call.

Not when it is built for phones first. We compress models with Draco or Meshopt, keep textures small, load each scene only when it scrolls into view and reduce the rendering work on low-power devices. Core Web Vitals are measured on a mid-range Android phone before launch, and a scene that costs too much speed is simplified.

They read everything outside the canvas, which is why we keep headlines, copy, product details and structured data in the server-rendered HTML and use the 3D scene to illustrate them. Nothing a search engine needs lives only inside WebGL.

Spline is quick for simple interactive shapes and fine for a prototype. Three.js gives full control over loading, performance and interaction, which matters on a production site. If the visitor only needs to watch rather than interact, a well-compressed video is lighter than any 3D scene, and we will recommend it.

They get a designed fallback: a still render or a short video of the same scene, next to the same copy. Nobody sees a blank box or a broken page.

Our studio is in Mehrauli, New Delhi, India. We build 3D websites for brands in Delhi NCR, across India and in the US, UK and Europe. Delhi clients can review work with us in person, and every project runs on a live staging link from the first week of build.
